Though one of the world's smallest countries, Estonia has one of the world's largest repertoires of folk songs. In 1987, these songs became the cornerstone of Estonia’s resistance against Soviet occupation, as they defied the Kremlin by singing banned nationalist hymns and anthems across the nation, liberating themselves from Soviet Rule. Filmmakers Jim and Maureen Tusty (whose parents were Estonian) have brought this story to life in The Singing Revolution, a New York Times “Critic Pick” film that documents this untold, legendary tale of freedom—ultimately and shockingly accomplished without a single life lost. GhostRider Paranormal Radio Interviews Rebecca Jordan and Brenda Reed from the Trans-allegheny Lunatic Asylum! The Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum, constructed between 1858 and 1881, is the largest hand-cut stone masonry building in North America, and is purportedly the second largest in the world, next to the Kremlin. It was designed by the renowned architect Richard Andrews following the Kirkbride plan, which called for long rambling wings arranged in a staggered formation, assuring that each of the connecting structures received an abundance of therapeutic sunlight and fresh air. The original hospital, designed to house 250 souls, was open to patients in 1864 and reached its peak in the 1950's with 2,400 patients in overcrowded and generally poor conditions. Changes in the treatment of mental illness and the physical deterioration of the facility forced its closure in 1994 inflicting a devastating effect on the local economy, from which it has yet to recover. The Asylum is now is open for historical tours and ghost hunting missions and is an amazing and paranormally active location worthy of any paranormal tourist who enjoys visiting such historical treasures as this location.

In the summer of 1925, the 11-year-old Anna Larina wrote a poem to poem to the Bolshevik leader Nikolai Bukharin, a kindly friend of the family, concluding: "Without you I am always blue." Her stepfather, another high Bolshevik official, encouraged her to deliver it to Bukharin personally. Author Paul Gregory "tells this painful tale using newly accessible Politburo and Central Committee materials that document the Stalinists' assaults on Bukharin and his desperate attempts to defend himself." Mathew Stein is talks about his book "When Technology Fails." Stein, provides something for everyone, from folks who just want to help their families when disaster strikes, to the go-it-alone survivalist, to the eco-minded person who wishes to tread more lightly on the earth, whatever the future may hold.

In the news, the state based challenge to "ObamaCare" in federal court has passed its first hurdle and can proceed. In another court, the Department of Defense’s “Don’t ask, Don’t tell” policy regarding homosexuals in military service came under suspension as the result of an injunction. Obama heavily courted the homosexual community in 2008 and was found in another article to openly state that homosexuality is NOT a choice; thus confirming Obama’s position that notion that any discrimination based upon that is wrong in every way. However, now Obama is placed in the unenviable place of defending a policy that he promised to repeal and his constituents find insulting and discriminatory. I can’t help but laugh at Comrade Barack’s misfortune!! In other news, the Catholic Church sponsored meetings with Jews and Muslim leaders, even Muslim religious leaders from Iran were in attendance, and there continues to be progress. Perhaps this is a good sign of hope, like the days of the Soviet Union when John Paul The Great intervened with the Kremlin to mediate between the super powers. Lastly, Pope Benedict XVI will canonize six more saints this Sunday in Rome.
